COGLIA
COGLIA
Bartolomeo Colleoni (1400–1475) was one of the most celebrated Italian condottieri, a professional military commander known for his brilliance on the battlefield and his strict personal discipline. Born in Solza, near Bergamo, he rose from a turbulent childhood — marked by clan conflict and the murder of his father — to become a formidable strategist in the service of both Milan and Venice, though he ultimately pledged loyalty to the Republic of Venice, where he earned immense respect. Renowned for his cavalry tactics, fairness with civilians, and unusual personal honor for a mercenary leader, Colleoni became a symbol of military excellence in Renaissance Italy. His final legacy is the iconic equestrian statue in Venice, one of the most famous sculptures of its era.
According to the records within the LottoRPG / Wish Blade chronicle, Coglia’s path crossed with another wandering warrior — Wish Blade. The meeting happened in open fields at dawn, as Colleoni was traveling to confront a dragon rumored to be terrorizing a remote region. Wish Blade, weakened and desperate for power, revealed to Colleoni that he required blood to strengthen himself and recover what he had lost.
Coglia, familiar with dark rumors traveling across Europe, told him of a man whispered about in taverns, battle camps, and royal courts — Vlad III of Wallachia, later known as Vlad the Impaler. According to Colleoni, Vlad had been accused of drinking blood, feasting on enemies, and ruling with a brutality so extreme that even hardened soldiers feared him. He told Wish Blade: “If blood is what you need, then you must seek the one they whisper about.”
This chance meeting redirected Wish Blade’s entire journey. Guided by Coglia’s counsel, he traveled toward Visegrád, where history claims Vlad was imprisoned — but where Wish Blade discovered something far stranger.
