The Edon Elders are the oldest surviving council on Planet Nine — a circle of scholars, historians, and warriors dedicated to preserving the truth of Edon long before the Nine War erupted. They are not a religious order nor a ruling government. Their halls preserve Edon’s memory — from war histories and land records to economic ledgers, trade routes and item details, succession scrolls, and the census of every soldier who ever served. To almost every citizen, they were the quiet foundation of stability — imperfect men, yes, but deeply committed to uplifting their land.

When the Swamp Prince began rising from the marches, the Elders faced a reality they were unprepared for. Terrified of losing their sovereignty and watching Edon fall under the Prince’s banner, the Elders hatched a plan in secret. It was a decision steeped in desperation, not malice — a terrible choice made by good men who were cornered.

They chose Wish Blade to become their counterforce. Quietly, they orchestrated his family’s murder and manipulation to the Phantoms and Fiends. They placed a runestone near his home to amplify his grief and confusion. The following nights, agents passed his door, releasing dust meant to blur the boundary between dream and phantom. Wish Blade was manipulated into giving his soul to the Phantoms and Fiends, thinking it was his own decision, thinking his family murder was a cost of war from The Swamp Prince. The Elders believed this would create a weapon strong enough to break the Swamp Prince’s advance. They did not foresee the cost. They regretted it almost immediately.

When Wish Blade learned the truth — that his human demise had been orchestrated not by enemies, but by the very leaders who upheld Edon, his vengeance was absolute. Each of the Elders was captured, tortured for nine days, and ultimately killed .
